Sophie Ostrov, 90, formerly of Virginia, Minn., and more recently of Hallandale, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001.

She was raised in the Cleveland Jewish Orphan Home. Her husband, Paul, and she owned and operated Ostrovs Supermarket in Virginia for more than 30 years.

She is survived by her son, Charles (Marjorie) Ostrov; daughter, Jean (Barry) Steiger; grandchildren, David and Susan Ostrov, Sharon and Gary Zalkin, Daniel Ostrov (fiancee Rachel ORourke) and Shawne, Brenda and Jeffrey Steiger; great-grandchildren, Philip Ostrov and Benjamin Zalkin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul.
